Terms of Use

By downloading or using the SmartTorch application ("the App"), these terms will automatically apply to you.

Please read them carefully before using the application.

1. Scope of Service

SmartTorch is provided as a utility tool to interface with your device’s built-in hardware LED. The App acts as a bridge to trigger the system-level commands required to operate the flashlight.

2. Hardware and System Limitations

While we strive for a seamless experience, you acknowledge and agree to the following technical realities of the Android No Fault Clause:
If the flashlight fails to respond to a command ecosystem:

System Overrides:
The flashlight hardware is managed by the Android System (OS) and the Camera2 API.
In certain instances, the Android System may prevent the flashlight from turning off or on due to resource conflicts, battery optimization, do not disturb being turned on, or background processes.

Third-Party Interference:
Other apps with camera permissions may "lock" the hardware, preventing SmartTorch from executing a "Power Off" command successfully.

No Fault Clause:
If the flashlight fails to respond to a command within the App (such as staying on after the "Off" button is pressed), you acknowledge that this is frequently a result of a system-level hang or hardware driver delay rather than a defect in the App’s specific code.

3. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer of SmartTorch shall not be held liable for: Any overheating or battery drain resulting from the flashlight remaining active. Hardware degradation of the LED bulb. System crashes caused by the Android OS failing to manage the flashlight toggle. User Tip: If the flashlight becomes unresponsive, we recommend closing all apps that use the camera or performing a quick restart of your device to reset the Android System’s hardware controller.

4. Disclaimer of Warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the App will be compatible with every Android device or OS version, nor that the system-level communication between the App and your hardware will be error-free 100% of the time.

5. Changes to These Terms

We may update our Terms of Use from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. Changes to these Terms of Use are effective when they are posted on this page.

Advertisements displayed, Collection and use of information

Once the "SmartTorch" and/or the "SmarTorch" app is installed, it contains Google Admob Advertisements. These ads will not prevent users from using the app, as they are only situated at either the bottom of the screen or the top of the screen.

In order to display advertisements in the interest of users, "SmartTorch" and "SmarTorch" uses the third-party service Google Admob which collects the user's Advertising ID.

Please refer to the AdMob policies and restrictions.

In-app purchase | Subscriptions

In case you are using "SmartTorch" and you don't want to see ads in the app anymore, you are given the option from within the app to either make a lifetime in-app purchase or purchase a monthly or yearly suscription through Google Play Store, to stop seeing ads in the app. Payment of this fee is handled by Google Play Store.

If even after you made that in-app purchase or purchased the suscription through the Google Play Store the Ads are still being displayed to you in the app, send us an e-mail with screenshots showing that problem at: germainkevinbusiness@gmail.com, so that we can address the matter.
